(January 12, 2010)—Nemetschek North America is pleased to announce that its Vectorworks® Architect software has been tested by the National 3D-4D-BIM Program with the General Services Administration (see http://www.gsa.gov/bim) as complying with the requirements of the BIM Guide Series 02, Spatial Program Validation. Vectorworks Architect software (version 2010, SP2) may now be used on GSA projects that require BIM.

Renderworks is the essential presentation-rendering tool that seamlessly integrates with Vectorworks, making the need for external rendering applications obsolete. Whether you want to produce artistically styled presentation drawings, or stunning photorealistic renderings, Renderworks will empower you to do it. Its sophisticated rendering technologies such as radiosity, final gather, and high dynamic range imaging, are packaged in an intuitive, straight-forward, and easy-to-use design environment.

Here's just some of what RenderWorks has to offer:

  • Define lights with real-world physical lighting attributes

RenderWorks radiosity creates more photorealistic renderings using indirect and soft lighting effects at a fraction of the cost of other visualisation packages. New physical lighting options allow you to define a light object with real world photometric properties. Apple Quartz Imaging offers all Macintosh users better support for large format printers, provides substantial improvements over how objects display on screen and the consistency with which lines print. Easier Light Aiming of directional lights and spotlights to make orienting lights more intuitive and a new Camera object for the control and editing of perspective views are just two of the interface improvements found in RenderWorks. Hidden line renderings are much cleaner and more accurate. Now, when you render a building model created from stacked or linked layers, you’ll no longer see a line between the floors.
