RasterServer: Shell file conversions
In addition to directly converting DWG, DXF and HPGL files RasterServer batch converts many other file formats using a Shell file method. To do this RasterServer works in conjunction with an appropriate viewing application that runs on the same CPU.

RasterServer communicates with the viewer application using DDE commands to instruct the viewer to 'print' to RasterServer's raster converter. Shell file outputs are always monochrome (colour to special order).
Input formats (Shell file application required):
The following formats and applications have been tested to work with RasterServer. This is only a sample. The approach will work with a wide variety of Windows applications.

DOC, XLS, PPT (MS Office)
PDF (Acrobat Reader or Acrobat)
DGN, IGES, ME10, PostScript, etc. files that can be viewed by Myriad (Informative Graphics)
Solid Edge files using Solid Edge SmartView
VSD (Visio)

Note: You must have to have the appropriate viewer application running on the same CPU as RasterServer in order to undertake shell file conversions.
