RasterServer: Publishing maps
There is an increasing demand that maps to be made available in digital format. If you have your cartographic information maintained as CAD vectors you probably don't want to release editable CAD vectors to the general public.

RasterServer can take your DWG, DXF or HPGL files and convert them directly to PDF, TIFF or other format that is easily read by the general public. That way your original CAD information remains secure.

A typical example of this type of use is in an Assessors office. The assessor maps are maintained as CAD files by a team of CAD operators. Changes are frequent. When an operator finishes updating a CAD file they save the file to it's disk storage. Then, to publish the updated file as a TIFF they save it again, this time to a 'polled' folder. RasterServer 'watches' this folder, picks up the CAD file and converts it to a TIFF and saves it to the release folder, replacing the older version as it does so. In this way updates are immediately available as publicly-readable TIFF files.
