MYRIAD Viewer Complete Feature List

MYRIAD is a multi-format viewer that can view, print, and markup office documents, images, and 2D/3D CAD files; in all, over 200 native formats and authoring applications are supported. MYRIAD is very easy to use and can be easily integrated into virtually any document vaulting system. Files can be viewed, but they not be changed in any way. Markups are created as separate, overlay XML files.

MYRIAD is available in a standalone desktop edition, network desktop edition, and a thin-client plug-in and ActiveX interface, allowing MYRIAD, with all its features, to run within Internet Explorer or Netscape.

MYRIAD's comprehensive format includes AutoCAD DWG/DXF/DWF, Inventor, Microstation DGN, SolidWorks, Pro/E, Solid Edge, HPGL (PLT), HPGL/2, TIFF, CALS G4, CGM, PDF, Postscript, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio), Corel WordPerfect, Lotus 123, and more. Compare Drawing Revisions

Compare drawings easily with Side-by-Side Compare. This handy feature automatically displays the two selected revisions side-by-side with linked zoom levels for faster navigation. View markups on the original revision while comparing to the new revision to ensure all changes have been made with fewer errors.

Add our Bird's Eye view to highlight differences clearly in bright colours, then jump right to those areas simply by drawing a window. The synchronized zoom takes care of the rest. Turn the compare shadow overlay on or off to overlay the new revision over the old. Bird's Eye views and the overlay shadow ensure that even the most subtle differences are immediately obvious.

Comparing drawings with Changemarks makes change order verification incredibly easy before the new revision is released. Because markups can be viewed on the old revision, users simply invoke the Changemarks review tool to step easily through each change request. Changemarks record the zoom level, automatically adjusting the view of both windows to focus on the relevant area.

Markup Features

Markup files are separate, XML files overlaid on the document, drawing, or model, leaving the original file unchanged. Concurrent and sequential workflow models are supported. Users can create individual markup files for sequential workflow, or they can route a single markup file for concurrent workflow. When using a single file, each user is automatically assigned a separate markup layer.  Individual markup files can be merged into a single, final review file.  Save markups with the source file in a document stack for easy association.

Changemarks® is a unique feature to MYRIAD and Brava.  Changemarks allow users to add text notes directly to the needing change and even save the view state (zoom level, orientation, etc.) to make it easy for reviewers to see the area of discussion.  Reviewers step through each Changemarks entity in the file or the entire document stack simply by clicking the Next button. Publish Changemarks to HTML or print as a collated document set.

Text Add text directly to view
Changemarks Notes Add note, record view state (zoom, layer state, etc.), and associate hyperlinks
Hyperlinks Add hyperlink through Changemarks.

Filled/Hollow Shapes Circle, ellipse, rectangle, and polygon
Highlights Rectangle, square, circle, ellipse, polygon
Clouds Random form to stand out

Web Browser / Network Install Interface

MYRIAD has a simple network install for users of a network license of Myriad wanting a desktop interface. It creates the necessary shortcuts and installs the few files needed on the client machine.

Users can also run MYRIAD through their web browser. After running the simple install, This thin-client method works with either standalone or network versions of MYRIAD in either Internet Explorer (using ActiveX) or Netscape (as a plug-in).

Integrations and API

MYRIAD supports user interface customization (through INI settings) and integration interfacing API (through myrcom.exe, DDE, and DLLs). This allows MYRIAD to be seamlessly integrated to your EDM/PLM or other application.

Out-of-the-box integrations to top EDM and PLM systems are available for MYRIAD, including Documentum, MatrixOne, and Agile.
