How to care for your paper and film

Temperature and humidity are the most important factors in getting the best from a paper or film.

Following these simple guide lines will help to ensure the best results.

Keep paper wrapped in its moisture-proof wrapping until it is required for printing.

Handle with care. Try not to touch the surface you are going to print on - you will leave finger marks which will change the way the paper absorbs ink. Handle by the edges or use clean cotton gloves.

Make sure that paper is at its recommended working temperature before using. Paper should be left wrapped and in the press/print room environment for at least a few hours for it to acclimatise to the room's temperature. Large rolls of paper may require days to acclimatise.
